Help for Parents

Getting Help for Your Parent

Getting help for a parent’s substance abuse and addiction issues is one of the most difficult and important things a family member will ever have to do. Realizing your mother or father has a problem with alcohol or drug addiction can bring up a whirlwind of emotions and stresses. At Clarity Way, we are here to support and guide you and your parent through the process of finding the road to recovery.

The University of Pennsylvania reports that 2.5 million older adult Americans have an alcohol or drug problem. As well, 6-11 percent of elderly hospital admissions are a result of substance abuse problems – including emergency room and psychiatric hospital admissions. Research also states that widowers over the age of 75 have the highest rate of alcoholism in the United States.

It is Not Too Late

Clinical research from the University of Pennsylvania proves that older adults respond just as well to treatment as younger ones do. At Clarity Way, we know from extensive experience that your parent can succeed – it is never too late to begin living healthily. Our program can help your parent feel more comfortable during withdrawal and address the underlying reasons why drugs or alcohol became a problem in the first place.

Exclusive Treatment Options

Clarity Way, located in the rolling hills of south central Pennsylvania, offers individualized treatment plans to meet your unique recovery needs. Treatment is custom tailored to each client to promote success on the path to recovery. Our approach to therapy is holistic: your loved one’s mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social needs are all addressed in our extensive treatment plan. Once inpatient treatment ends, we will design a personal aftercare plan that can ease the transition to the world outside residential care.

Clarity Way is committed to offering a fully confidential and secure environment for recovery. Treatment includes a range of therapeutic modalities, including a minimum of 10 – 15 individual sessions per week. Caring for your parent will be our staff of eight full-time therapists, physicians, a psychiatrist, and a 24-hour nursing team trained to support clients through their individual progress. Our Recovery Support Team is fully qualified, compassionate, and committed to the improvement of your loved one’s overall health.

Healing the Mind, Body, and Spirit From the Rigors of Addiction

Treatment at our facilities focuses on healing clients’ body and mind through modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, Addiction Education, Music Therapy, fitness training, Neurobiofeedback Therapy, and more. We focus on tailoring each treatment program so the client takes full ownership over the process and their health outcomes. Many of our clients leave our facility feeling emotionally stronger and physically healthier than they have in years.

Learn to Live Free From Addiction

Adults suffering from addiction can face substantial health and psychological problems younger than average, non-addicted populations. This does not have to be your loved one’s future, however. Countless studies show that completing substance abuse treatment definitively improves mental and physical health outcomes in aging populations. Our clients can finally take the time to address the underlying causes and triggers for their addiction in a supportive environment.

Addiction is a serious disease, but it is treatable — and we can help. Contact us today at 1-877-628-1489 to speak to one of our intake specialists about how Clarity Way can help your parent find his or her path to recovery.

A WORD FROM OUR CLIENTS Hear more about how we've enabled our clients to move forward from addiction towards the path of recovery.

“I never thought I could be sober and I never knew what was wrong with me and why I had the problems that I did, but I learned through my stay at Clarity Way that I could find recovery. I learned that there is nothing wrong with me, but that I have an addiction, and I learned how to deal with it. I didn't know I could be sober, but Clarity Way showed me that it's possible, even for me, and I remain sober today.”
