For many people addicted to alcohol and/or drugs, finding words to express their deepest thoughts is incredibly challenging. The arts — and specifically, music — have proven enormously beneficial to those who are recovering from substance abuse because they provide an outlet for self-expression, socialization, and introspection. Our luxury rehab center is proud of our one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art recording studio, designed by a professional musician touched personally by substance abuse.
The Music Therapy program at our alcohol and drug rehab utilizes specific interventions designed to help clients achieve a full, life-lasting recovery from substance abuse. No experience is required, although professional musicians, serious amateurs, and novices alike will appreciate our facility and equipment, which includes state-of-the-art recording software and high quality instruments. The studio features a Martin acoustic guitar, a Gibson electric guitar, an Epiphone bass guitar, a range of percussion, a Midi keyboard, and more. Recording software includes Pro Tools, Reason, and Garage Band; microphones from Shure and Bluebird complete the studio.
Music Therapy takes place in the studio and features interventions unique to music. Songwriting, lyric analysis, and improvisation all help experienced and new clients grow musically; clients also learn to use music as a tool to relax. Although not every client wants to become a professional musician or even an amateur musician, our therapist will work with each person's strengths. No experience in music is necessary to take advantage of our Music Therapy program.
Music Therapy is part of a comprehensive holistic recovery program offered at our luxury rehab center that addresses the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of every client. Clients begin their journey to recovery with a stay in our medically managed detox, where our compassionate, experienced medical staff is available 24 hours a day. After detox, our staff designs a customized therapy program for every client that takes into account specific individual needs. Our luxury rehab center uses progressive, results-oriented therapies such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Neurobiofeedback to unearth the root causes of addiction, to retrain clients to avoid relapse, and make better choices; alternative therapies such as Music Therapy and Art Therapy help our clients express their innermost thoughts and emotions in a non-threatening, non-judgmental atmosphere.
Our drug and alcohol rehab offers Music Therapy, psychotherapy, and physical wellness treatments in privacy and serenity. Our 15-acre property is located in the rolling hills of South Central Pennsylvania and is a day's drive from major metropolitan centers of New York, Washington, and Philadelphia. Our luxury rehab center accepts only up to 6 detox and 17 rehab clients at one time, assuring our ability to provide a client-focused, personalized rehabilitation program.
You do not need to be a professional to benefit from Clarity Way’s Musician Therapy program. In group or individual sessions, even something as simple as banging on a drum can have therapeutic value. We have a wide range of percussion instruments that can be used to promote cooperation and socializing with others in a sober setting. Our clients have found this to be an outlet for personal growth and self-expression that is very useful while on the road to recovery.
In 2012, Clarity Way announced the founding of Clarity Way Records, a creative platform for musicians in recovery. Clarity Way Records gives you, and other musicians in recovery, a way of sharing their music with others, with profits going towards the MusiCares charity. Through Clarity Way Records, we are spreading the message that beating addiction can be both emotionally and creatively rewarding.
If you or someone close to you is a musician struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, help is available. It is a common belief among addicts that drugs and alcohol are somehow responsible for their creativity – the Music Therapy program at Clarity Way lets performers recover while encouraging them to continue to record and play the music the love. “I've struggled with addiction throughout the majority of my life. Clarity Way helped me find a better, more capable person within myself and helped address all of those things that I'd been using drugs and alcohol to avoid for far too long. During my stay at Clarity Way, I began to deal with the underlying issues that I discovered had partially caused my addiction. By working through them, I finally realized that not only could I be sober, but that I wanted to be.”
